Hosting with Linux simply has more advvantages as opposed to Windows. Linux servers require less resources which means they are cheaper to offer and indirectly even lead to a better environment.
Linux in general is better protected against hacks and malware and offers the possibility to run just about any script without problems.
Linux servers are also known for their power and stability. Over 60% of all websites worldwide run on a linux-based server.
Our goal is to achieve a 99,99% uptime.
Your website will never be unreachable for more than a couple of minutes each month as necessary updates are performed. Normally however, your website will be available 100% of the time.

If you pay using PayPal, MasterCard or VISA we will process your order immediately. In most cases your website will be online minutes after we receive your payment.
If you pay by wire transfer, your order will be processed as soon as we receive your payment. If you want us to process your order faster, please contact us.
Depending on the hosting plan you have chosen, you are allowed to link a number of domains to the same hosting plan.
These domains will be configured as parked domains. This means that all these domain names will point to the same website. You can offcourse receive email on all these domains and use other services.
If you would like to place a completely different website behind a domain name however, you will need to choose a separate hosting plan.
In some cases we do allow this if the new website is somehow linked to the original website. This only applies to domain names registred via us. Please contact us about this matter..
If you cross your allowed data transfer limit, nothing will happen.
We will not block your account or bill you the excess volume.
We will monitor your usage according to our F.U.P. (Fair Use Policy).
If your usage is excessive, we will contact you to work out a solution.
The "Optimize Website" option in cPanel will compress content with gzip before it it sent to the browser. This will significantly reduce the amount of data that needs to be sent making your pages load a lot faster.
Pages are only compressed when the browser supports this option.
We recommend to set this option to the setting "Compress the specified MIME types" with the value "text/html text/plain text/xml text/css application/javascript".
To send out emails using SMTP trough your own domain, you would normally use mail.yourdomain.com on port 25.
Certain internet providers block the use of port 25 because this port is commonly abused for sending out unsolicited emils. Please configure your email client to use the alternative SMTP port which is 587.
Our SMTP server also requires identification. Don't forget to enable this option in your mail client.
To make files visible on the internet, you need to place them in the "public_html" folder.
By default you will find a file called "hello.world" in this folder. You can safely delete this file.
Files that are placed outside of the folder "public_html" can not be viewed online.
We accept PayPal, VISA, MasterCard and bank transfers.
If you already own a domain name you can transfer it without problems.
The procedure to transfer a domain differs depending on the domain extension.
In general, a code needs to be provided to us in order to initiate the transfer. This code sometimes needs to be provided by the current registrar.

1. a code is emailed from dns.be to the email address associated with the domain name.
2. you provide this code to us.
3. we initiate the transfer of your domain name, which is done in real-time.
A full backup of your complete webspace is created on a daily basis. This includes all files, databases and email. Multiple backups are kept at multiple locations. These backups are also available for you to download from within your cPanel control panel.
The backups created are intended to place your website back online in case of emergency. We will always assist where possible to restore a complete or partial backup when you request this.
We point out however that you take full responsibility for your data. How2 Solutions can therefore never be held liable for any loss of data. We recommend you to create a backup frequently and store it in a safe place!
Wij begrijpen dat uw website belangrijk voor u is. Mogelijk verwacht u dat uw website gewoon elke minuut bereikbaar is, zonder downtime dus. Een dergelijke uptime kunnen wij u met onze standaard hostingpakketten niet garanderen. Graag willen we dat toch even verduidelijken.
Een website die werkelijk 100% van de tijd bereikbaar is vereist een andere aanpak. Er zijn immers verschillende factoren die er voor kunnen zorgen dat uw website offline gaat:
- Een aanval van buitenaf op de webservers en/of het netwerk
- Installatie van veiligheidsupates die een herstart vereisen
- Een programma op de webserver (bv. de database) dat crasht en herstart moet worden.
- Een spontane herstart van de webserver
- Hardware die stuk gaat
- Een netwerkonderbrekeing, waardoor uw website niet langer van overal bereikbaar is
- Een stroomstoring in het datacenter, of erger
U begrijpt dat, om al deze mogelijke problemen op te vangen, er aanzienlijke investeringen nodig zijn. Denk daarbij aan het decentraal opslaan van uw website op meerdere locaties en de wijzigingen ertussen up-to-date houden. Ook nieuwe technieken zoals VPS- en cloudhosting vaak geen oplossing voor al deze problemen.
Wil dat zeggen dat wij u niet kunnen verder helpen? Zeker niet. Als u ons even contacteert zoeken wij met u naar een oplossing op maat afgestemd op uw budget.
